Estimated revenue
A model estimate with a likely range, not a reported figure.
No estimate. Apps outside the grossing charts, and some countries, have no reliable rank-to-revenue curve, so we show nothing rather than a guess.
How this estimate is made
Rank: we take the app's best Top Grossing rank on the latest chart day. Category ranks are converted into an equivalent overall rank, because a #10 in Finance earns far less than a #10 overall.
Curve: that equivalent rank is read off a rank-to-revenue curve anchored on public company revenue and market-data reports for the US iPhone App Store.
Country: the curve is scaled per country (Japan is roughly a third of the US, Türkiye under 1%). Where we have no scale, such as China, there is no estimate.
Range: the likely range widens with country, category and chart depth. It is a plausible span, not a statistical confidence interval.
Not included: ads, payments outside the App Store, and any difference between gross sales and what the developer keeps. Low confidence means indirect data; medium means several independent sources agree.

About this app
Text from the App Store listing.
Current is an RSS reader built on a simple idea: your feed should never make you feel behind.
There are no unread counts. No red badges. No number climbing while you sleep, silently tallying everything you haven't read. Current shows you what's new right now, and that's it. Nothing is owed. Nothing is overdue. You open it when you want to read, and whatever's there is what's there.
The design is intentional. Every screen, every interaction, every animation was built to feel calm and unhurried. Articles are presented beautifully with clean typography and generous whitespace. Navigation is fluid and intuitive. The app gets out of the way and lets you focus on what matters: the writing.
Current supports multiple sync providers so you can bring your existing subscriptions:
- Feedbin
- Inoreader
- MiniFlux
- FreshRSS
- The Old Reader
- NewsBlur
- Local RSS (on-device, no account needed)
Features:
- Universal app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac
- Beautiful article reader with smart formatting
- Full-text article extraction
- Light and dark themes
- Background refresh
- OPML import and export
- Share extension
- Keyboard shortcuts on iPad and Mac
- iCloud sync for local feeds
Current is a one-time purchase. No subscription. No ads. No tracking. Just an app you buy once and own forever.
Built by an indie developer who wanted to love RSS again.
What’s new
Release notes for the latest version, as written by the developer.
- Significant performance updates across the board
- Feedly is now available
- Most feeds that don’t work are blocking us with Cloudflare, so now we provide that detail when adding a feed, rather than “no feed found” (and are still working on being allow-listed w/ them)
- A11y Scrub has been extended and is now fully implemented
- Fixed an issue where linkblogs (daring fireball, etc) sometimes link to themselves and get suppressed.
- Adjust the feed picker to disambiguate each feed when a source has multiple.
- Blackholed a handful of “helper cards” that were indeed not helpful.
- Fixed an issue where if you don’t launch the app on the 2nd device within 7 days you could end up with orphaned stories that don’t expire.
- Fixed an issue where the source list could fall out of sync between two devices related to above.
- Fixed an issue where offline requests may clog up the queue once you go back online.
- Adjusted the reading time insights to account for when you leave an article open in a pane (iPad primarily) and aren’t actually reading.
- Fixed an issue where “Auto advance after release” would get reset by the cloud.
- Over 30(!) small visual and interaction fixes across macOS, iPadOS and iOS.
- Over 50(!) source fixes for parsing and identifying feeds.
