Runa: RPG Maker & VN Player

Runa is an RPG Maker and Ren'py player for iPhone and iPad. Import and play the RPG Maker games you already own in full-screen landscape with touch controls and a customizable virtual gamepad — no PC required.

Whether your games were created with RPG Maker XP, VX, VX Ace, MV, MZ or Ren'py, Runa makes it easy to bring your collection to iPhone and iPad.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Zip your RPG Maker/Ren'py game folder on your Mac or PC.
2. Open Runa and tap Import.
3. Choose the ZIP file from Files or iCloud Drive.
4. Runa automatically detects the engine and adds the game to your library.
5. Tap Play and start your adventure.

NEW: Ren’Py visual novels (Beta)

• Runa now supports Ren’Py visual novels alongside RPG Maker games. Import a game folder or .zip, then tap to play. Some games may not work yet, but compatibility will improve over time. If you run into trouble, contact me by email or Discord using the links in Settings.

NEW: Game translation for MV/MZ (Beta)

• Translate RPG Maker MV/MZ games on your device with Apple’s translation feature. It’s free, private and works offline once you’ve downloaded the language. Open a game and tap Translate game to get started. Requires iOS 18 or later. Text in images isn’t translated.

NEW: Gamepad skins

• Meet Keycap, the new default look for the on-screen gamepad. You can also choose Round, Retro or Minimal from the skin gallery.

IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES

• Some games with large numbers of scripts reach the title screen much faster
• Fixed an issue that could stop a game during a story scene
