Estimated revenue
A model estimate with a likely range, not a reported figure.
No estimate. Apps outside the grossing charts, and some countries, have no reliable rank-to-revenue curve, so we show nothing rather than a guess.
How this estimate is made
Rank: we take the app's best Top Grossing rank on the latest chart day. Category ranks are converted into an equivalent overall rank, because a #10 in Finance earns far less than a #10 overall.
Curve: that equivalent rank is read off a rank-to-revenue curve anchored on public company revenue and market-data reports for the US iPhone App Store.
Country: the curve is scaled per country (Japan is roughly a third of the US, Türkiye under 1%). Where we have no scale, such as China, there is no estimate.
Range: the likely range widens with country, category and chart depth. It is a plausible span, not a statistical confidence interval.
Not included: ads, payments outside the App Store, and any difference between gross sales and what the developer keeps. Low confidence means indirect data; medium means several independent sources agree.

About this app

Know what's safe to spend before payday.
Tell BudgetGen what you earn and spend, in plain words. It works out what's safe to spend, and answers any question about your money.
JUST ASK
Ask the way you'd ask a friend who's good with money:
"How much can I spend until payday?"
"Can I afford a $60 dinner on Friday?"
"Where does my money go?"
Every figure is worked out from your own pay, bills and balances.
SAFE TO SPEND, EVERY DAY
BudgetGen knows your bills before they hit. It sets them aside and shows what's really yours to spend until your next payday.
BILLS, WITH A REMINDER
See what's due before payday. Get a heads-up the day before each bill, and a warning if you're heading short.
BUDGETS THAT FIT YOUR PAY
Set a limit for each category and see how it's going. Ask for a suggested budget, and BudgetGen fits one to what you're actually paid.
GOALS WITH A PLAN
Saving for a trip or a rainy day? See what to put aside each payday to get there on time.
SNAP A RECEIPT
Take a photo and it's read for you. Check it, then save it with one tap. Or add spending by tapping +, or just tell the chat.
YOUR ACCOUNTS IN ONE PLACE
Bank accounts, credit cards, loans and investments: what you have, what you owe, and how much credit is left on a card.
PLAN TOGETHER
Invite your partner and share the same bills, the same budgets, the same picture. One subscription covers you both.
NO BANK LOGIN
BudgetGen doesn't connect to your bank. Setting up takes about two minutes: your pay, your rent and bills, and what's in your account.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your plan is used only to run BudgetGen for you. It's never sold, there are no ads, and you can delete it anytime.
BudgetGen works in English, in your own currency: Canadian and US dollars, pounds, euros and many more.
SUBSCRIPTION
BudgetGen needs a subscription. One subscription covers you and your partner.
Yearly: $49.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers
Monthly: $9.99 a month
These are the prices in the United States and Canada, each in its own dollars. Prices in other countries vary; the App Store shows yours. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Fair limits apply to the questions you can ask each day and the receipts you can send each month.
BudgetGen is a tool for understanding your own money. It is not financial advice, and it never moves your money. AI answers can be wrong, so BudgetGen works out every figure itself and asks you to confirm before any change is saved.

What’s new
Release notes for the latest version, as written by the developer.
Connect your bank
You can now connect your bank, in the US or Canada, through Plaid. BudgetGen reads your accounts, balances and transactions, finds your pay and bills, and keeps what's safe to spend up to date for you. It can only read: it can't move money. Disconnect any time in Settings > Connected banks.
Heads-ups that matter
With a bank connected, BudgetGen lets you know when your pay arrives, when a bill goes up or hasn't shown as paid, and if you're heading short before payday. Tap one and the chat opens with the question ready to ask.
Also new
- Merchant logos on your transactions and bills.
- Plan together: banks either of you connects are shown to both of you.
- Logging a payment that looks like one of your bills? BudgetGen asks whether it's that bill's payment, so it's only counted once.
- Ask why a budget is over and BudgetGen explains what it counted.
- Easier to read with larger text sizes.
Prefer to type it in? Everything works as before. You can connect a bank later: once it has been read, your typed accounts, pay, bills and expenses are replaced by the bank's, and your budgets and goals stay.
