『ICEY』の本質はメタ要素にこそある。プレイヤーはナビゲーターの指示に抗い、「ゲームとは」「真相とは」といった命題と向き合うことになる。『ICEY』の中で、君が演じるのはICEYであり「君自身」ではない。
しかしそれすらも絶対ではなく、君は「君自身」を演じ、「君自身」としてICEYを操作することもできる。

ハイスピードバトル：目まぐるしく状況が変化するバトルでは、常に「攻撃」「反撃」「回避」の判断が迫られる。この世界で生き残るには、一瞬の油断も許されない。
コンボシステム：簡単な操作で強力なコンボ攻撃を繰り出すことができるコンボシステムを搭載。コンボ技ごとの特性を生かして、自分だけの戦術を生み出せ！
巨大ボスバトル：様々な特徴を持つ巨大なボスたちが、圧倒的なプレッシャーでICEYに迫る。相手の動きを見極めない限り、ICEYに勝ち目はない。
メタ要素：プレイヤーはナビゲーターのヒントをもとに、自身の行動を決める。しかしナビゲーターの言葉がこの世界のすべてではない。プレイヤーは与えられたヒントをもとに情報を整理、分析し、少しずつ世界の真相に迫らなければならない。選択するのは服従か、反逆か。
